Known locally as the Pearl of the Gulf of Tigullio, Rapallo is a lively seaside resort on the Ligurian Riviera, located around a picturesque bay full of boats.
You will meet your guide in one of the most singular monuments of the city, the Musical Kiosk, with its imaginative fresco, for a Welcome Aperitif with a toast based on local sparkling wine and Focaccia, before continuing towards the ParlaComeMangi shop, a real emporium chock-full of delicacies such as cured meats, oils, vinegars and handmade pasta.
Here you will have the opportunity to prepare Genoese pesto using a traditional mortar!
Next, the tour will move to the lively Rapallo food market to explore the products and aromatic herbs featured in Ligurian recipes.
The tour will then pass by an artisanal pasta factory, where you can observe the preparation of the traditional Ligurian stuffed pasta "pansoti" filled with fresh herbs from the market.
The tour will continue through the city center visiting several local shops. During the tour, guests will be able to taste two different local delicacies from the following selection: cheese focaccia, pansoti, farinata, stuffed vegetables or fried anchovies (depending on the availability of each venue).
The last stop before returning to the shop will be at a local ice cream shop for a refreshing taste of one of Italy's most famous desserts.
The food tour will end with a lesson-tasting of three different aged balsamic vinegars and extra virgin olive oils from three different Italian regions.
